2023 Parade Grand Marshalls Harvey & Donna Jungerman
Harvey and Donna Jungerman are lifelong residents of Mayview, Missouri. Harvey was born in Mayview and has lived within a mile of where he grew up his entire life. He is the son of the late Clarence and Anna Marie Jungerman. Donna came to rural Mayview as a one-year-old and has lived in the Mayview area ever since. She is the daughter of the late Jack and Doris Pitts. Harvey and Donna recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. Harvey and Donna were married on June 13, 1992, at Cedar Grove Christian Church in rural Mayview. Together the couple has three sons, David Jungerman of Austin, Texas, Matt and his wife Glenda Begemann of rural Bates City, Missouri, and Chris and his wife Julie Begemann of rural Odessa, Missouri. Harvey and Donna have six grandchildren. Harvey attended Centerview, a one-room country school in rural Mayview through seventh grade before attending school in Odessa where he graduated from Odessa High School in 1957. Harvey served six years in the Missouri National Guard. Donna attended Mayview School through ninth grade when it was consolidated with the Odessa School District. Donna graduated from Odessa High School in 1969. Harvey has farmed in Mayview his entire life starting as a child with his dad. The Jungermans have had a dairy, row crops, hogs, and cattle. Harvey continues to farm today, growing row crops, and has a cow/calf operation. Donna has raised children, worked as a bookkeeper at the Mayview Elevator, loan price support at the FSA office, formally known as the ASCS office. Donna has also worked in sales, including feed, retail clothing, and Mary Kay Cosmetics. She left the retail business nearly 20 years ago to help on the farm driving the grain trucks and all-around farm go-fer. Donna is still a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant, farm go-fer, bookkeeper, cook, and bottle washer. Harvey and Donna enjoy serving their community of Mayview. Harvey has served as a deacon of their church and Donna has served as church treasurer of the Cedar Grove Christian Church in rural Mayview. Harvey and Donna are long-time members of the Mayview Lions Club where the couple has held numerous offices. In 2007, Harvey started the Annual Lafayette County Tractor Cruise as part of the Mayview Picnic. Harvey and Donna spearhead this successful event year after year and this year will be the 16th Annual Lafayette County Tractor Cruise. The Jungermans enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, traveling, reading, volunteering in the community, and serving their church. Harvey enjoys working on the farm and building things at home and church. Donna enjoys planting flowers, yard work, organizing events, and her Bunco group.
